Your endorsements, encouragement, and donations of time and money are a big part of what made this campaign a success. We'd also like to thank the other JP Pct. 3 candidates for running good, clean campaigns.
The People's choice for the People's Court is Russ Casey
At the inception of Texas as an independent republic, Texans created the Justice of the Peace courts as "the people's court." This tradition continues in our current state constitution, where the office of Justice of the Peace is established separately from all other Judges. The unique position of the small claims court serves us well: it is meant to be a less formal setting, a place where you can represent yourself, and common sense prevails.
For the first time in twenty-four years the people of Northeast Tarrant County will be choosing a new Justice of the Peace. It is important that the tradition of conservative values and open courts be continued. Like all eight of Tarrant County's current JP's, Russ comes from the business community. In fact, out of the 838 JP's in Texas, only 46 are attorneys. This tradition has ensured that the People's Court has remained a place where you can feel comfortable representing yourself, and know that you will be treated fairly.
